Freelancing Womxn

Freelancing Womxn is an online space for womxn* to find positive support, helpful dialogue, and education to grow their freelance business successfully. We support within our Freelancing Womxn Community to help you to boldly succeed at freelance.

Our community

Freelancing Womxn Community is a collaborative and supportive online Facebook community providing freelance women with local Berlin community support, knowledge building, local event networking, and access to work opportunities.

“I started Freelancing Womxn because I had just started freelancing in Berlin, and I felt a little lost. I searched for a supportive community of womxn freelancers that I could meet and support each other.”

- Megan ThudiuM, Founder of Freelancing Womxn

Basic Questions to Know

❌ I will no longer approve questions about the Freelance visa, German taxes, German invoicing, VAT questions, finding a flat, or similar. Why have I made this change? Because there are many other fantastic Facebook group communities that offer better advice and support for these topics. Please start with our topic categories to see if your question has been answered and if not, please visit these other Facebook communities.
We work towards creating a strong community of knowledge and collaboration between Freelancing Womxn members. As group moderators, we want the best for our members to keep our community as a resource that helps, supports and gives to others. In order to continue this effort and keep our group helpful to all, we don’t approve the following types of posts:
  • Promotion of a Facebook group or asking for recommendations of other groups.
  • No survey links.
  • No sales promotions, links to personal websites or service promotions.
  • Marketing of outside events that aren’t Freelancing Womxn related.
  • Personal Promotions (examples include: links to websites or social media, promoting services, asking for feedback while linking to a profile, asking if there is interest for ‘XY&Z’ service, asking for a vote, promotion of outside events, discount to a coworking place and similar.)
Please understand to protect the greater community, group moderators have the authority to remove any post (or not approve) any post that doesn’t follow our community guidelines. We may not provide a response for your denied posting.

We’re founded on freelance business education and community-building in Berlin. There are three core topic groups in our community: business advice on marketing/sales/business tools/business growth, finding work opportunities, and sharing business knowledge with other community members. Other topic posts may not be approved in our community.

Your post was most likely not approved because it didn’t meet our community guidelines. If you think this action is false, please reach out to hello@freelancingwomxn.com.
During a normal month (non-covid), we try to plan two monthly events. One event is a coworking event and the other event is a social event.
The community is organized and run by founder, Megan Thudium. She’s a marketing agency owner, freelancer of 8 years, and freelance business mentor.

Community Guidelines

Freelancing Womxn is an online space for womxn* to find positive support, helpful dialogue, and online education to grow their freelance business successfully. Our Facebook community is a place for you to connect with other womxn freelancers in your community, to ask questions, acquire business knowledge, and support each other.

Please kindly consider our community rules when interacting in our Facebook group.

Friendliness towards mistakes. We’re human, and we’re all learning, mistakes can happen, so please be kind and help other members to grow from faux pas.

No promotions. Give more to this group than you take. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links aren’t allowed. The exception is on allowed threads. If you’re promoting yourself in a post, it’ll most likely be deleted.

No hate speech or bullying. Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn’t allowed and degrading comments about things such as race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.

Zero tolerance policy. We have an absolute zero tolerance for discriminating, harassing, excluding, bullying, gaslighting, victim blaming, patronizing behaviors—and these behaviors have no space in our community.

Access rules. Group moderators have the right to decline invitations from individuals whose profile pictures or names are not clearly identifiable as real person or as woman. We will always do our best to double-check and ask with a Facebook direct message in case of ambiguity and, in order to keep the community safe, secure that all people accessing the group respect the community guidelines and purpose.

Be kind. We’re all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let’s treat everyone with respect. Healthy debate is natural, but kindness is required. We’re a professional group and work to build each other up (and not down). If you’re rude, condescending, snarky, or disrespectful to anyone within the group, you will be removed and banned without warning.

Respect everyone’s privacy. Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What’s shared in the group should stay in the group. When it comes to photography and videos, the moderators always do our best to ask permission before posting in the Facebook group. If you at any time feel uneasy, reach out to Megan Thudium.
